A SENATE RESOLUTION relating to the appointment, nomination, and confirmation of Jocelyn Mitnaul Mallette as Secretary of the department of military and veterans affairs.



Whereas, pursuant to G.S. 143B‑9(a), the Governor shall notify the President of the Senate of the name of each person to be nominated as head of a principal State department; and



Whereas, each nomination is subject to senatorial advice and consent in conformance with Section 5(8) of Article III of the North Carolina Constitution; and



Whereas, the Governor has appointed Jocelyn Mitnaul Mallette as Secretary of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs pending further action by the Senate; Now, therefore,



Be it resolved by the Senate:



SECTION 1.  That the Senate shall hereby consider whether to confirm Jocelyn Mitnaul Mallette as Secretary of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.



SECTION 2.  This resolution is effective upon adoption.
